This'N That

Timing

It's about time. Attention to detail takes time, we won't rush your quilt through the process. To have the best possible results and a job well done is as important to us as it is to you.

A bit About  Batting

Hobbs is the best selling batting in the country

We use Hobbs 80/20 Cotton Poly  blend. If you require a different batting please let us know.

Figuring Quilt Back Fabric Yardage

We use a calculator app by Robert Kaufman Fabrics. You can download a free copy at
your app store. If you have trouble using the app give us a call...Well give you a hand.

Add an extra 8 inches minimum to the length and 6 inches minimum to the width of your quilt back, that’s 3 inches on each side and 4 inches on the top and bottom.

Cut the fabric to your calculated backing size and piece together with 1/2” seam and be sure to iron the seams flat. Be sure your quilt top seams are all ironed flat too.

Note

If your backing is pieced, please try to run the seam horizontally, and press the seam flat,

OR  if you wish we can do the seams for you, only 9.95 each.

For Best Results

Starch and press your quilt top well, making sure it is square and lies flat. Waves, fullness and puckers on your top or back may result in less than optimal results. Please mark the top of the front and back with a safety pin and remember to trim all of your loose threads.
